Recurrent meningitis in a case of congenital anterior sacral meningocele and agenesis of sacral and coccygeal vertebrae.
A rare case of recurrent meningitis due to congenital anterior sacral meningocele and agenesis of the sacral and coccygeal vertebrae is described. An autosomal dominant inheritance is demonstrated for lower cord malformation, and environmental factors (chromic acid or fumes) are discussed.

Sacral agenesis (SA) is a rare condition consisting of the imperfect development of any part of the sacrum. This paper describes two cases of the rare cooccurrence of ipsilateral SA and developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) and analyzes possible contributory factors for SA and DDH. Each of a 16-year-old female and 13-year-old female visited our hospital for left hip pain and limping. The fin...

Sacral agenesis belongs to spectrum of aplastic vertebral malformations ranging from agenesis of coccyx to lower thoracic vertebrae and the term sacral agenesis has been used synonymously with caudal regression syndrome. Higher the defect, severe is the neurological deficit. Mangeau and Leclaire described a patient with ninth thoracic vertebra as the lowest segment(l). Sacral agenesis is more c...

But no one seems to recognize the high incidence of a serious medical problem among investigators — 'multiple personality disorder'. Of course I say this with tongue planted firmly in cheek, but it's not too far off the mark when we consider ou...
متن کاملUsefulness of Sacral Sublaminar Wire for Low Transverse Sacral Fractures: Two Cases' Report
Low transverse sacral fractures are rare, with only two published reports regarding their surgery. The complication associated with surgery for sacral fractures is the prominence of implants. In addition, screw fixation below S3 is impractical. We performed posterior sacral fixation using S2 alar iliac (S2AI) screws and sacral sublaminar wires for low transverse sacral fractures. Case 1 was 65-...
